Looks like it would be a PITA to change the battery when it goes bad. Thanks for the pics. Now I know where it goes when I win the lottery and buy some twins.:p

A floor jack will make the job a lot easier. I thought the same thing before I got it done.

Just got my tray from Gmpartsdirect.com It looks almost identical to your but mine has a little tab sticking down with a hole in it? Did you cut yours off or did yours come without the tab?

Is this the part number you used 15041310? Also does Nathan send these with his kits or is it an extra?

Yes, the tray originally came with the little tab on the bottom. I used a grinder with a cutoff wheel to remove it and sprayed it with some spray paint.

I installed one of Nathan's new kits at work a few weeks ago, and it came with a tray and parts to extend the cables. I'm not sure if it was extra or came included in the regular price or not.

If I installed mine in that location, it would be covered in mud and I know I would have battery failure at that point. Used to have a dual oil filter mounted there, kept breaking lines.

Where else have people mounted the batteries on these trucks?

Mines mounted on the passenger side frame and we managed to get it all hooked up using the original battery cables, they were plenty long enough without splicing :D

depends where you want to put the battery, if you put it where most do the cables will reach without lenghening

I just picked up one of these battery tray's. The part # 15041310 is a good number currently with any GM dealership and the application is originally for factory equipment on the van model. :)
