I’m new to these forms and don’t know much about them, so not really sure how to do this. But, my truck is having a charging issue it’s a LBZ. I’ve been to the part store nonstop on trying to figure out if my alternator could be bad. I’ve tried three different alternators and yet nothing has changed. I replaced the pig tail on the back of there alternator and I know for sure it is wired correctly but I’m only getting about .5 volts coming out of the pigtail. The alternator on it now is one with a decoupler voltage regulator and not sure if that’s the right one but all my buddys at the part store can only find that it is the one for the truck. Any idea if it is the right one? Im usually pretty good with everything else I ain’t the best by any means but, electrical wiring and stuff is for the birds. Any help or tips on what I should do would be greatly appreciated!

Is your fused link still good? The wire running from the alternator to the jump box on the driver's side has a fuse built into it to mitigate the chance of a fire if it shorts to ground.

I would not think of testing that wire/connector unless the output to the battery cable terminal was incorrect. Battery cable should be about 14V while at idle for a fully charged battery, sometimes more if the battery is depleted. And the battery should output the stated AMPS, or at least close to it.
For your test, which wire are you testing, and what do you think the output should be and?

I'm with Ron on this. explain what you are testing to determine that is not charging. give us some figures. what's the battery resting voltage after a day. what's the voltage when idling. voltage at the alternator stud, fuse, etc
