Good To Know

I just invested a few buck into the new iQ w/ monster exhaust and air box, on a brand new 09 duramax. Nice power and response loaded with safty stuff., however no gas milage increase on level 2 as i thought i would have. Great interface, easy to use.
Be spending some change on intercooler, speedbrake in the near future as well.
I believe in keeping everthing with the same Manufacture. Thats just for me.

I bought the whole banks system... big hoss bundle or whatever its called.... spent the money, and currently only still use the banks intercooler. i DID like the intake, the exhaust was ok, but for the money i wish i would have done what i have now - the 5" MBRP.

Overall, i liked the kit - but wouldnt do it again. No way. Buy the AFE stage 2 intake (this is for an LLY i believe you said, which is what i have and have had all the experiences with - so can't speak for other versions)...

The intercooler, for towing seemed to help out quite a bit with EGTs. The exhaust helped too, as i deleted the CAT when i did it.. that probably helped the most with power and EGTs. I ran the banks ram air intake for a while then switched back to the AFE stage 2 intake. had better spool and overall about the same EGTs but seemed that the truck just had more power with the AFE.

I happen to still have the Banks exhaust - full system including the 'cat delete' pipe - so its a cat-back system, including the very nice 5" stamped / rolled banks tip. If you're interested let me know. If you're just towing, i think it'd be plenty fine... if you're going for a max power effort, the PDA / six gun / banks exhaust is NOT the way to achieve that - efi is. However, if you're after a much healthier truck for towing and occasional fun while having a ton of safety, i still think banks tuner is the way to go. EFI is wonderful, it's all i will ever use - but the Banks vs. the Edge vs. EFI (only other products i've bought and tested) - the banks feels better, tows better and i know has more safety stuff built in to their tuner (well Banks vs Edge normal level 5 chip, not the HOT juice which i also tested). I loved the Banks for towing. I know others will give me flack - but i'm stating my own personal experiences on my '05 LLY... i went through alot of products getting my truck to where its at (ie - wasted alot of money trying to get what i wanted out of my truck).... so there's my opinion on it.

I also have my old AFE stage 2 intake - complete (although probably dirty from sitting in the garage for the last year plus)... i run twins now so i don't have an air box anymore...

I'll make you a good deal IF you want it and feel it will work for you... If not, thats ok. I'd save the $700 plus on the banks exhaust though, if you're going to get the rest of the stuff, as i have the complete setup - about 15k miles on the exhaust so yes it isn't all shiny and new on the under truck parts, but it's complete and in perfect working order.. But remember, if you're planning to try and race or get max power out of your truck, i don't think the exhaust is for you. JMO - so take that for what it's worth.

AFE intake, if you have nothing on there but factory right now, will yield quite a difference in spool and you'll see a drop in EGTs (if you're monitoring them anyways)...

If you have specific questions about my experiences with the chips i ran, the gains i saw before and after the mods, etc. etc... .let me know. I did some hill billy testing as each piece of the banks went on... so got a fair idea of what did what - but can't state HP #s or anything like that - just tell you how much i beat my friends ford by after we bolted on each new piece :D

I now have the Six-Gun w/PDA, Monster exhaust, and Ram Air w/superscoop. I just did a trip to Maryland and back totaling 2500 ish miles. On the way I had the Six-Gun on level 5 and averaged for the trip, 22.7 mpg. I should note that I drive like an old lady. Note the RPM in the pics. That is in a 70 mph zone. I am doing the trip again for my Mom's brain tumor removal on the 10th. I think I'll try level 6 on the way up unloaded, and level 4 on the way back with a '72 Challenger (gift from Big Brother) in tow on a U-Haul trailer. I am gussing that will be around 6k total between the trailer and car? For the record, the pics show 1.5 mpg low. I have 265's now, instead of the stock 245's, and the copmuter has not been flashed. All hand calculated. That is how I found the difference in mpg's.
