i dont feel that its a very big deal, i dont really know many if any people who use a different oil pan than stock. i usually jack my truck up so its angled towards the drain plug just to get as much old stuff out as possible and i ask myself why i even bothered to go that far every time i do it.

two cups of oil you can never get out!!!! zomg its like an infomercial but i have to read it instead of hearing it 6 times in a row.

with these trucks taking 10 quarts i doubt 2 cups would ever make a difference, just my .02

My oil doesn't get black within minutes after an oil change anymore since someone stole my EGR system. :D Maybe if I put this pan on the oil will look fresh even after 5000kms

$295?
For an oil pan?

Damn.

i said the same thing out loud lol but from the photos it looks like a quality piece and i bet if mag hytec made one it'd be comparable in price, i just don't feel its a necessity.

Wast of time and money who cares about a little old oil. Go look at Oil Analysis for these trucks. 10K is no problem on any oil. I have gone 16K on delo 400 a dino oil and the Analysis wasn't that bad. These trucks are VERY EASY on oil.

Hmmm...was not really thinking about buying one, but was curious about the necessity. I suppose if you were super anal about maintenance it might be a good buy. Really? 10,000 miles? I go to 5,000. If I went 10,000mi I would only have to change it once a year! That would be nice!

im super anal i only go 3k but i would never worry about that little bit of oilthey talk about, my oil is always clean even when i change it anyway.

oil is always cheaper then a motor, which is sad because with my shitty luck i might need a motor anyway :(

As far as wear is concerned your are probably doing more damage to your engine by changing it that often. But really whatever makes you happy.

New oil isn't as clean as you think it has crap in it too.

Our trucks take 40 cups of oil on a change. Even if a full 2 cups of dirty oil remain, that means 2 of 42 cups are dirty, or less than 5% of the oil. Totally trivial.

I'm with Dozerboy. I've been doing 10k mile changes for just shy of 300k miles, and my oil analysis still comes back great. These motors are super easy on oil. I still run dyno oil (Delo 400), because there is not really a need for the higher price of synthetic in this motor, IMO.

Save your $295 and just change your oil 5% sooner if you really care.

Lol

Yellow....:banana::nana::dancenana::nanawrench:

And as trivial as it may be, you loose 2 cups of lubrication potential....I change my oil regularly enough that I believe the 2 cups of "dirty oil" that remain are better than the 2 cups that wouldn't be there...

$295 for an oil pan
And it's

Yellow.....

I'll pass, if I was all that worried about it I'd use a Motive Power Extractor

What about the little sump at the front of the upper cast aluminum pan? I would bet it holds way more than 2 cups.
