Ok guys I'm having a bit of an issue that I would like some ideas on. The truck in my dog has had some bad balance rates along with some white smoke. The injectors only have about 450 miles on them. I sent the injectors off to be modified to 100% over and had kory update my tunes updated. I pulled the injectors and sent them back to the company that done them and come to find out there was a miscommunication and they modified them to 100hp over instead of 100% which they are taking care of but they also tested the injectors again and tested out good. When I get the injectors back I plan on installing them back in the truck and doing a compression test.
Balance rates
Cylinder one. +15
Cylinder two. -3.0
Cylinder three. -1.3
Cylinder four. -7.0
Cylinder five. -5.3
Cylinder six. -6.3
Cylinder seven. -7.0
Cylinder eight. -7.0

Okay, your going to have to let us in on who did them... I'm a bit of a skeptic to any one making a mistake of a 100hp versus 100%... Something sounds fishy.

It was a miscommunication not a mistake. It was a company in Louisville ky called diesel injection.

Diesel injection knows what they are doing. If they tell you they are good, they are. They do rate their injectors by HP for some reason. I told them they should quit doing it that way and go to % for the Dmax world. HP over is a dodge thing

Do you have any codes? P0300 misfire and the P1223 open circuit codes? You can have these codes without a cel.

I would be focusing on cylinder one. Either something going on mechanical with it or maybe the injector wasn't seated right.

P0016- crank shaft position camshaft position correlation.
P0301- cylinder 1 misfire
P0340- camshaft position sensors circuit
P0341- camshaft position sensor performance
P0677- no discription

With your mods, are you sure you don't have shortened rods? They could produce the smoke and balance rates like you are experiencing.

Those balance rates are before I sent the injectors back and I'm waiting on them to come back so I can install them and do a compression test. I didn't swap injectors around to see if it followed the cylinder but I wish I did. Could shortened rods really cause the white smoke? I'm not doubting that they could be bent but haven't even done a full throttle pull since new injectors and trans went in and it hasn't came off the first tune.

Short rods can most definitely cause white smoke... No compression to ignite the fuel properly...

I'll do a compression test as soon as I get the injectors back and will more than likely be pulling the engine and start ordering parts.

Well, I would like to think it could be bad injectors but Kyle seems convinced that this company is legit, so it's not looking good...

Well I know it doesn't look good but I had already been searching for parts, have some parts, and planned on ordering rods in the next week or so. So if it is shortened rods it couldn't have happened at a better time.

Just thought I should update. The injectors are on their way back to me but while they had the injectors apart remodifying them they found some small metal debbry in the injector with the +15 balance rate. Anyone know what could cause this? One of the cp3's coming apart possibly?
