Truck started acting funny today after I got home. High idle will not work properly, it kicks on the sputters and goes back to normal idle then it tries again with the same result. I put it neutral and high idle works fine. Truck feel like it wants to push through the brakes when I put it in gear. No codes. Any suggestions?

.... You're just now coming around to a "bad converter". That thing has been rode hard and put up wet waaaaaaaaay too many times. You're forgetting Ive had to drive that thing when your lightweight ass gets too shitfaced to drive.... That converter's had one foot in the grave for a while:D

Maybe a screwdriver fell in it?

Mine has been pushing through the brakes for a while but my high idle still works fine. It sounds like the converter is on its last leg.

I was hoping you fags didn't see my post lol . those 230K miles are all highway miles. I'm up in ND and there is no places that do performance stuff.... Or that I trust. She still drives and shifts fine, she just gets a little hotter than usual. The converter slip is at 7-13 rpm when locked... I'm pretty sure my clutches are toast.

I would say that 7-13rpm is within the standard deviation of the sensors themselves, so it is probably locked. Last time I logged mine it would show anywhere from 0-10rpm difference when locked.

Good ole stocker, temp goes up real quick with stop and go traffic. Highest temp I've seen was 160*.... She never gets that hot, and the fact that she needs more rpm to get moving.

160-180 is what my built unit runs at with 1056 converter and factory 5 spd cooler.

My stock 6 speed runs at 120-140.

All I know is she best make it back to the west coast 1 more time under her own power. I know lots of people are eager to see how my clutches look after so much TLC they've seen.

........ My trans pulled it's tampon out of its vajayjay. No more pushing through the brakes or higher than normal temp and high idles normally. I didn't do a thing to it besides take it off kill mode. I love my truck
