My bet would be the sending unit. Check O'reillys for prices. I got my for about $60. They're not to bad to change out.

You have to drop the tank (i'm sure you know that). Make it easy on yourself and try and run most of the fuel out of it before you dig into the job. You might want to try and sifen it out also. Just trying to help.

I bought a new sending unit from Santa Clarita GMC in Southern California for 160$ about 2 years ago... PM Henry (ripmr666) he will be able to get you the best price possible

I got that price about 2 years ago. I did get that through a commercial account we have with them, but most of the time that doesn't discount it that much. I'll call and get a part # and price.

FG0166 Delphi part number $360 That's really odd because I know I did not pay anywhere near that price! X2 on taking the bed off instead of dropping the tank. Much easier

Iv seen the repair kits cheap were you get just the sending unit on the side. If you get the whole cup they charge more. I just saw the year of your truckthe bad thing with that year is the wires rust and get a poor ground ontop of the sending unit. I also sell the Ppe intank pickups.

take the bed off, 8 3/4in bolts and 3 allen screws on the filler neck gets it loose and a buddy to help you lift, 20 mins later and the bed is off the truck
