Yep. Don't know who they talked to that said it wasn't important but it was the wrong people.

I think they're full of bull spit! I don't believe for one second that any buyer would say they don't give dang if the warranty lasts longer unless they told those who were polled that the price of the vehicle would drop significantly if they did that. Unfortunately idt they'll drop the price at all.
I cant afford any new chevy that I'd actually want to so it doesn't effect me but I still say its BS & fabricated from selective data.

I can already see several dodge and ford commercials comparing warranty coverage now. I give it a month or two. I think the worst part of it is it makes GM look horrible and that they aren't standing behind their product.

If they are going to decrease the warranty why not go all the way and make it an option like everything else? You want 100k warranty then pay for it. If I want to delete a new truck then I wouldn't bother paying for warranty coverage. A warranty is just an insurance policy you are forced to buy.
We need the 100K warranty to protect ourselves from the BS complicated, defective crap the government forces upon us. When the warranty is over; the failing smog crap will dollar you to death. Nox sensor on my LML costs 700.00 and there are 2 of them. Changing out a particulate filter will cost thousands as will the egr and associated crap.

I can see the other brands either using this as a selling point, or worse, like Mike said, they will follow suit.
And with the emissions crap to deal with, that will get expensive quick. It also says GM has no faith it will last to 100k miles. If it did, then the warranty wouldn't cost them anything, and there would be no harm offering the warranty.

Much of that may be covered under the federally required 8 year / 80,000 mile exhaust emissions parts warranty. GM can't change that, it's mandatory.
I bought a GMC bc of the 100,000 mile warranty. I'll put that many miles in less than two years but trade just before I hit the mark. Now when I trade it'll be less likely to be another GMC
