I'm still perhaps in shock and denial, and am awaiting a second opinion.

I knew everything dies, as it is cycle of life, but why so young????

:(

I was in the waiting room and there was a copy of Motor Trend...

The 2011 Ford Mustang humiliated the 2011 SS Camaro in every measurable aspect. It's quicker (13.1 vs 12.7), higher trap speed, better handling, etc, etc.

How could this HAPPEN!!!!

Oh, and I'm fine, just a followup visit.:D

I'm pretty sure they can even just "turn up" that monster LS1 under the hood. It's nowhere near the Z06 spec yet, which is 505HP. My guess is 475HP for 2012.

Kudos to Ford though. I didn't think they had it in them. Seems Chevy didn't think so either. Dodge? Dead last in all fields. Big inefficient engine in a big car, so it's truly "retro".

PS - The only time I read Motor Trend is when a waiting room has a copy, and Woman's World is the only other choice.

I don't subscribe to it because the paper is too glossy to use as TP, and I don't have a birdcage that needs lining.

The looks of the Camaro already seem a little old to me. I don't really care for them much anymore. Which is sad because I've always loved Camaros.

Yeah the list of factory go fast options in the LSx family is quite capable of dealing with the mustang. I mean in the parts bin already is the ability to go to a z28 , a COPO (Z06 427) and maybe the nuclear option of the blown 6.2 out of the ZR1. Bring back the race suspension packages like the 1LE and you will have a long list of future pony war options.

The corvette engine options are pricey because 2/3 live only in one vehicle. Spread the costs around and vette power trains in camaros makes sense.

The LS1 has been dead for several years now. It's the LS3 and can't remember the other motor depending on if it is M6 or A6.

The funny thing is even the Ford guys don't like the current Mustang. They all feel that there is no real potential left in the 5.0 motor compared to the Camaro and a Mustang friend of mine told me that they are not selling that well (don't know if this is true or not). The big problem is the Camaro is something like 400lbs heavier then the Mustang. If they could put the Camaro on a diet it would really help. The motors in both cars are very close in HP/TQ. The problem is weight for the Camaro.

I agree with the magazines. Are they really neutral or are the advertisement dollar driven?

Womens World? What the hell are you doing at the gynecologist? Getting your mustache a trim? :D
