bad injectors

I am looking for some advice on some injector problems that I may be having. I have a 2003 duramax with 130,000 miles and the injectors was replaced. Twice a week I drive for 250 miles at about average of 60 MPH. A while back I noticed that at an idle I am having quite a bit of blue smoke out the exhaust and it stinks. The truck starts and runs good. It is getting 16 MPG at 75 MPH. I was told that #7 injector is in and out of speck. I ordered a computer software so I can read the balance rates myself. I am unsure if I should replace just on, replace all 8 or buy a set that has been rebuilt to get better fuel mileage. Can I watch the balance rates while driving down the road or only while at an idle. can I have another problem like a bad electrical connection. Can anyone give me any advice? I will have the balance numbers next week.

how old are these new injectors? you might get away with just replacing the injector that is bad. balance rates should be checked when the truck is up to operating temp, put it in drive while holding the brake. could also be a bad installation job. any fuel in your oil?

thanks for the reply. I only owned the truck 2 months. I am not sure when the injectors was replaced. I will need to call the dealer that replaced them in a few days. I don’t think that I have fuel in the oil. the oil level is not increasing and last month I had the oil tested and the results came back good. how can I determine if it is a bad install job. I have not heard much good about the dealer that did the job. just after i got the truck i traced an oil leak that was coming from the # 4 injector seal that is in the valve cover, it was torn and silicone up. it took me about 3 hours and $10 to fix this mistake that somebody else should have fixed when it was broke.

I am not sure if I am in the right place for getting answers for my problem so any help would be appreciated. I have a 2003 duramax that is smoking a lot at idle. it has 130,000 miles on it and the injectors was changed by the dealer several years ago.

the balance rates are;
1= -2.4
2= 0.7
3= 0.7
4= -0.7
5= 0.3
6= -1.1
7= 4.1
8= -1.5

What should the max difference be between them? Should I replace all of them or can I just change the bad ones? How long can this run like this before it does other damage? Can something else be causing it to smoke? It runs good, does not make oil and gets an average of 16 MPG. If it was not smoking I would have never suspected any problems. Most of my driving is at about 70 MPR for about 200 miles nonstop.

We put a bottle of marvins mystery oil in my buddys tank. Then ran the crap out of it. Cleaned it up really well, and his balance rates were normal after that.

X2 injector rates are not too bad. It's definetly worth running alot of fuel treatment and see if helps. Alot cheaper than replacing injectors

I am getting ready to have my injectors rebuilt by a certified bosh shop. I decided to pull the glow plugs out to do a compression check first. when I pulled #4,6,8 the glow plugs have oil on them all the others were dry. the compression is at 355 psi. what is this a sign of. is this causing the blue smoke at stop lights and nothing at speed?
