Anyone have some advice for me, I'm leaving town and have a customer that has a DSP5 issue.

I installed a DSP5 switch on a customers LBZ a while back and he seems to have an issue with the tune placement. For the first couple months it worked fine, but now, its like his 4th and 5th setting have completely switched around. I know it sounds crazy, but I wondered if something in the switch is messed up. He mentioned he changed tunes frequently so I'm thinking the switch might be worn out. I'm just wondering if you have seen an issue like this before. The 4th and 5th tunes are quite different and you can tell the seem to be switched around.

Thanks...

Have you logged the switch position with EFI? That would tell you right away if something funky like that was happening.

there is the metal tab in the back that sets the positions, or the switch could be loose in the back.
I would tell him to set it to a good all around tune and leave it until you get back

Iirc base file is 5v, dsp1 is 3.5, dsp2 is 2.5, dsp3 is 1.5 and dsp4 is .5v those values aren't exact and they really don't need to be. There's some room for fluctuation in each voltage range. If at any time it shows 5v in the dsp positions you've got a problem.

I have had the ecm grounds go bad on Lbz's before. I thought it was a bad switch but after replacing it with a new one and it still not working, I tested the ground and found it was shorted out internally. Switched to a chassis ground and they work.
