So I cured my brake rattle for one short month by replacing pads, and all hardware for the calipers. Pins, bushings etc.. what the heck does it take to stop these dang calipers/pads from sounding like they are about to fall off?! My buddies lbz does not have this issue...I'm jealous.

My buddy has an amazing remedy for that. He puts a line of silicone in the sliders and let's it dry for a it before putting it all back together. Thought he was crazy but I'm going on two years rattle free. It really does work.

What do you mean by rattle? I haven't experienced this issue. Are you certain it's a brake issue and not shocks or bearings?

You haven't heard it, if you did you wouldn't think it was bearing or shocks or anything else.

Fwiw I used electrical tape and it works well but I'll try silicone if the tape wears out

Do you have the same issue? I have been in vehicles that when you hit the brakes the pads cycle forward and hit the caliper cause a chatter. Is that what the sound is?

Edit: just read the first reply. Nevermind lol

Gosh I would think if a guy were to put silicone on lets say 50% around the caliper bolt the entire length that the caliper would get sticky. I would think the brakes may hang up some? Maybe not, but I guess it may be worth a try. And the rattle goes away as soon as you apply the brakes. Its just embarrassing when you drive by with what looks to be a nice truck but sounds like there are parts about to fall off.

Well, I bent the sliders out some until there was zero play. Siliconed the backside of the slide up pretty well. I even put a thin layer of silicone where the pads can move forward and back. It did the trick for niw, zero rattle. But now I have what sounds like some tin rubbing on the rotor. Thinking the slides are barely touching it.

You can also use anti drag reduction clips. Cost a little more than tape or silicon, but does allow the pads to release from the rotor. Used a set on a previous truck and it solved the brake pad clatter.

I replaced the anti-rattle clips in my truck a few weeks ago and the rattle stopped.

Try these: Carlson 16118

Slide pin boots and rubber inserts

I ordered these boots for cheap off Rock Auto and noticed it had these rubber inserts with them. I haven't dug into the caliper yet to see if they are in there or not. The kit I get from AZ and Oriley do not have the inserts and are much more expensive
