Bad Black Smoke

I just bought a 07 LBZ dually with 200K on it. One owner, meticulous maintained. supposed to not have any tuning on it.

Unfortunately it smokes black bad from about 1/2 throttle on.

So far I've checked for boost leaks, confirmed idle and WOT MAF and MAP readings on another LBZ and they are very very similar. Both desired and actual FRP's match (within a few hundred psi of course).

Truck also has fresh oil & filter, fuel filter, and air filter.
Truck does has full factory exhaust with active EGR which I will block tomorrow.

Also, no blow-by at all that the factory PCV system does take care of at idle.

If anyone can help diagnose this it would be greatly appreciated.

I just noticed that when the coolant temp is not up yet it almost won't smoke at all.

Is there someone who can get me something very basic like an optimized stock tune for EFI live so I can rule out tuning? I'm starting to think more and more its tuning like Keith suggested.

The dealer can flash a stock tune.

Where you located? Maybe a member can help out

Diesel Addiction is in Wilmington. They'd be able to help you with your problem.

OK. I'm starting to think its a vane position sensor or stuck vanes.

I have a flash scan V2 but can't find anything that tells me how to set it up to manually control the vane position and monitor the vane position.

I'd be happy to pay someone to help me set this up so I can get the truck diagnosed so I can get it running right. I've got a few thousand miles of road trips planned, but I don't want to travel with it or really drive it until I get it diagnosed right.

What your email address? I will send you a stock lbz file. Have your read out the tune and saved the file that is in it?

Also worth noting, its never been to the dealership ever, so if there are any computer updates it certainly hasn't had them

Finally figured out how to get some PID's on the V2. Another thing to rule out is the vane position sensor/stuck vanes. The desired and actual vane position is right on the money.

Any ideas?
