Me either, now there's holes in the door if I take them off... It has an 11 foot bed which is really nice.
For the moment it's just getting a good cleaning, some led lights for the bed, and I'm making metal bed rails. In a few months I'd like to do an 06 front end swap and respray it.

And eventually a clutch and tune.... It's never ending haha

Nice score on the LWB, I would rather have one, but the steal I got on this truck offsets the continual search.

I am going to run these LED's down the sides, multiples of them.

I am ready to pull the interior on mine and do a deep clean, waiting for a call back on this console so I can do that all at once.

It is never ending that is for sure.

Tow mirrors and Esky handles arrived yesterday. Almost time to go to paint.

Started my servicing of everything yesterday and hit a HUGE snag when I couldn't get the filter head off because the old fuel hoses are 188k miles old and brittle. Ended up cutting them too short and have to pick up the OEM replacements at the dealer tomorrow. $42 each, yuck but what can you do.

So the oil change is done and the trans fluid is dumped and the new filter is on, going to do the Hoot method for a full change over. Once I have the new hoses I can get the Nicktane and the CAT filter on.

Nick,

The owner of that 1949 dodge grain truck picked up a 95 12 valve this week and the flat bed on it has those peterson LED's on it, they look good.

If you want, I've got fuel line you can cut a chunk off that you need.

Got the trans serviced finally Tuesday night and made a disaster of a mess with the fluid on the floor. Its night and day difference in the way the transmission acts.

Have a line on a snow plow as well. Pretty excited as I wanted a Blizzard Power Plow but did not think I was going to find the deal I have. Needs some paint, but will do that when I paint to match the other parts.

So I let my sister and brother in law borrow the flatbed yesterday to go get some antique fence panel, and they have terrible luck with vehicles. As they headed south to go get them they called me and asked if the engine light had ever been on and I told them no. Strange.

About 30 minutes later they called and had stopped to get money to pay the people for the fence panels, and said the truck would not start. So I headed back to check it out. When I got there I found that the serpentine belt had decided to start coming apart and take out the crank position harness and plug, which is why it would not start. So they are in the middle of a packed parking lot in the busiest area of town. Luckily a parking spot came open and we were able to push it into the spot. A couple hours later the boys and myself ran down with trucks and trailer and snagged it up and got it home.

Time to find some parts on a Sunday and get it back together in the cold......

Been wondering about this project and when it would pop up again :thumb: Keep us posted on the front end swap... Do you need new fenders and core support or just a new hood and grille for the swap?

Take lots of pics

I would strongly suggest you put a sealed heat shrink on those connections and not just electrical tape it up. using the truck as you plan with all the salt it will see and moisture, those connections will for sure corrode and cause you issues in the near future.

I am no newbie to electronics and wiring.

Not to bash, but as James said, that's a pretty messy wiring job there.

Whatever you all say, that 7 months ago it was 20 degrees outside in my driveway. That is soldered, heat shrinked and taped with 3M Super 33+. Again this is not my first rodeo when it comes to wiring. I have installed electronics for the past 20 years, not to mention the wrenching on the cars about the same.

Post up pics when you do the hood

Well now what you say makes sense. Based by the two pictures it didn't look like all that was done. Again I wasn't bashing, just from what I saw it didn't look like how I would do it, but now after what you said, that's exactly how I would have done it.

It's a sick project you got working, also. Can't wait for more pics.
