I’ll need a new cooler for it built long block but would prefer to do away with the stock one and mount a Aux one.

Anyone offer a kit?? I’ve found these two setups for parts but hoping someone has pics of theirs and what parts are best to buy.

Why do you think you need the other cooler? I’d think with a large AUX cooler the other could be deleted all together especially a cooler with an electric fan .

Not a bad looking kit , I’d like to have one with a fan on it . May price buying my own thermostatic filter head and cooler.

Removing the coolant to oil heat exchanger means you aren't keeping the oil temp near the coolant temp during cold weather, which could theoretically cause issues with differential expansion.

Adding an auxiliary cooler can help if you are making enough heat to overwhelm the stock cooler (which isn't that hard to do), but you retain all the benefits of the stock heat exchanger.

What Dave said. Kinda like trying to ditch the rad cooler for the transmission, you need that coolant to knock the initial heat down, oil to water coolers are much more efficient than just a oil to air alone imop.

If it’s going to be a race only engine, deleting may not be a bad idea. If it will see street use in hot ambient temps or any towing, you will need that factory cooler

The properties of thermal heat transfer dictate you will cool oil better with water than a cheap electric fan. Keep the stock cooler and add one.

Looks like I’ll be buying a new stock cooler since it’s going to be a 1000hp daily driver. Thanks for the input guys.

Lol ,oh it better be since I just got my built long block, I didn’t spend that much money for 800hp.

Can you tell me how the heck you fill out the sig.? I’ll start filling it out with what’s here and add to it as the parts get here.

You might have a 1K tune in the truck but you aren't going to be able to use it on the street. My 05' is 800 and worthless at wot in 2wd, proxes shredder...

No doubt, I’ve had a 1000hp 5.9 before. Truck will make it but 95% of the time be driven in the 750hp range.
