Driving down I95 last week, I noticed my fuel rail pressure gauge going well beyond 30k PSI. I got a little concerned so I pulled over and got out my scanner. I started checking the pressure and as I suspected. It was good. Running 75-77 MPH on level ground in 6th, it was calling for 12-13k. Normal for my truck. I continue monitoring for the next hour and my conclusion is the damn gauge is crapping out. Again!

I have replaced the EGT twice and now it'll be this one twice. And basically for the same reasons. They just get stupid and start reading all over the place. I have AutoMeter Phantom II's. This is getting expensive for something that should last a bit long IMO. The last EGT gauge was bad right out of the box.

Should I look to change them to a different brand that may last longer. If so, what brand? Or get used to replacing them every few years?

My rail pressure gauge has been off since I got it. (just posted about it an hour ago actually) When I first got it I installed it with the ppe plug and play harness for it, took it out for a drive and the fu**ing needle fell off in the first 5 minutes. Autometer would not let me just swap it out for a new one at a local authorized vendor.... they made me pay for the shipping to and from just to have the needle put back on. AND after I got it back it was still 10-15% off (reading high) and now had a moisture build up problem in the face of it. Called Autometer to ask for their engineers so I could get the voltage/amperage data to see if it was reading right and got the run around for 40+ minutes (did this twice) and both times they said they would call me back and never heard back. now at this point my warranty is up. Absolutely horrible customer service and they could give a chit less... sorry rant over. Hopefully you have better luck than me

I bought my last EGT gauge on Amazon so it was easy to return for another but that's not the point. For $200 and the name of Autometer, it should work and be accurate. Otherwise, what's the point of having it? The replaced EGT gauge from amazon works fine but it does show about 100* lower than my old Autometer EGT gauge.

Based on the issues I've had, that's why I'm asking for better alternatives. I've never used isspro gauges but I might be switching soon.

I have Autometer Sport Comp II Boost and pyro gauges. My pyro gave me problems bouncing around so they sent me a new probe/wire. Same problem with the new parts and I just left it for about 5+ years. I got sick of dealing with it and didn't find the time to fix it. I just emailed them last summer that I was still having issues. Sounded like they had a bad batch or 2 of probe wires. They sent me another one free of charge and out of warranty and so far my gauge has been working good. It was pretty annoying but I'm happy they still made it right outside of their warranty.
