Looking for a good audio setup. Wanting to run a nav/dvd headunit...something like a Kenwood DNX6190...a backup camera and a decent sub/amp setup...as well as keep my Onstar/steering controls. I know a good bit of what I want. The main thing I don't know enough about is amp/sub setup so I do it correctly. I was thinking a single 10 or 12...nothing outrageous preferably in a stealth box or something that doesn't require the rear seat in the Tahoe to be pulled all the time.

IMO a good harness adapter will help out. I would look around online, because the adapters for the Bose/ onstar are quite pricey. Also I would find a box you like and see how much air space it offers, and find a sub that matches.

That's pretty sweet...details please. Not to ask a loaded question but do you lose the entire center console for use? Although that's still pretty sick regardless..can you post pics if you have them?

That's what I have in my truck it doesn't affect the use of the center console at all for an amp you want one that puts out around 300w rms at 4ohms

What's up brother? About time you got rid of the POS Ford :D Do you have the 3rd row seating in your "Hoe"? I built a fiberglass enclosure for the rear of mine, that had 3rd row seating. It took some time and effort, but it fit perfect and you couldn't tell it was in there with the hatch closed. It was for two 10's, would have been kind of hard to fit two 12's I think. I may or my not have pictures out here with me, but if you'd like to see the design let me know, I'll see if I have any with me.

Check out Axxess Interface. I installed one with their ASWC steering wheel control module with my DNX61??

It retains Onstar and has adjustable chime volumes :D:woott::D:woott:

The only very minor issue with the setup is that after restarting the vehicle, the steering wheel controls need a tap to wake them up.

JL audio makes nice stuff. Your biggest problem may be finding an enclosure that has the air space to support a killer sub. W6 is a great sub, perfect to use as a single, but it requires alot of depth to mount, hard to keep that sub stealth without removing/adding custom panel in the back. As far as amps try and step up to digital, brand is entirely up to you/installer, digital amps are smaller and sound killer, and im pretty sure they draw fewer amps to produce the same wattage as traditional amps. More mula tho. Two 12"s in a sealed enclosure running 400 watts ea off a1200w peak rated 2ch amp will give you some nice beats at a low volume, and no distortion when you decide to crank it up. Sealed gives a tighter base, ported will give you low low "sloppy" base, if you ever listen to rock or classic rock, jazz, stuff like that id suggest a sealed enclosure, if all you want is real deep base and are not looking for the precussive sound go with a ported/bandpass box. Just set a limit of how much and stick to it, you can build a competition dmax engine for less than a competition stereo. Hahaha.

Very true points. I'm thinking something sealed..I'm getting too old for the boom boom sloppy crap. Just want something with a little kick to it. I am not opposed to utlizing the space in the back behind the third seat to work with I just don't want something that requires the seat to always be pulled. I remember a super slim JL 10 setup that I'll have to look for as well...my biggest issue is matching amp to subs...so if I throw up a couple of options can I get some help picking an amp?

I don't know if you are interfacing to RSE but just an FYI; my DNX6980 does not output NAV video on the aux out A/V. I wanted the maps on the RSE just like flying. You need the flagship Kenwoods to do that is what I was told.

Whats a good inexpensive basic stereo with navigation? I dont have steering wheel controlls but would like one that will work with my factory XM antenna.
