That's something else.. duratothemax explained why we have trouble with lockup in a other thread. He is right I've known the same thing for about a year. And pretty sure it was him who I learned it from.

Mike is explaining why we cant physically go into the TCM to get it to do it

5 speeds won't ever lock in first anyways as they sit. So there's no worrying about it.

out of the gate no, but they can. Duratothemax explained that ;)

I've had Bens Lockup box on my truck since July and its been flawless. I gained .2 in the 1/8 my very first time out with it. I have the builder kit and the buttons are on the dash so it was hard getting used to launching with one hand, but after I did the truck ran consistent 12.0x. I wasnt seeing lockup until 4th gear so having it lock right off the line was a major improvement. Thanks again for the time and effort you put into this Ben!

If the tcm sees a certain % of difference
in input and output speed it will not let lockup occur as to prevent damage.....as power increases so does this problem

so will using this lock up feature at the wrong time cause premature breaking/problems then? or is it simply press when ever you want to lock it no matter when.
just curious how much damage can be caused by locking it when it shouldnt be maybe.. im no trans guru so throw it at me

I saw the title of this thread and got scared for a second that I was going to have to put out some fires!!

Glad to hear that they are working out well for everyone. It took a lot of work and fine-tuning to get it right, and a LOT of wasted money in wrong parts/failed designs etc... But now that its been figured out and ive gotten the bugs worked out, Im happy that people are pleased with it. They are only gonna keep getting better with more and more features as I continue to work on it. :thumb:

(and of course, like I said I built a lot of future-upgradability/compatibility into these latest controllers)

Thanks for the shout-out Nick.

Anyone have a wiring diagram for a 6 speed box? I'd like one or a link to one please!

So when is the optimal time to force lock the TC? A certain gear? Rpm? Or boost level? Without tow haul on my TC will not lock up. My truck will just sit at 3600 rpms and not do anything till I let out. With tow haul on the TC locks before I can get on top of the charger.

As soon as my foot leaves the brake pedal. I launch with my finger on the button. Probably locks right at the 60'.
