So, how did it go?

With all the time I spent on here learning (screwing around) when I finally got off my ass to do it I suddenly had 1 million tasks....

I want to be able to take a bunch of pictures of the install and 'flush' so i can put it up here and on diesel towing resource so some of the guys like me have pictures.
I really appreciated GMC2500HD's pictures and posts, I'm going to try to document EVERYTHING so it's going to take me a day... I just keep running out of hours.

You'll love this:

I wound up having to call my wife who was at the store for other things and ask for vaseline... she laughed, I told her "No babe, I'm serious, I need a tub" -
She got VERRRY quiet... I then said "I'm going to use it on the truck, not you" and without skipping a beat I heard her sigh of relief and her say "Oh thank god, I'll pick you some up" ... .

She NEVER asked why I wanted it for the truck, she was just happy it didn't involve her...

Can we please stay on topic here? The topic is NOT " Vaseline has many uses in the truck, in the house, and in....nevermind. ":D

Call me before you do this and I will give you some pointers to make it easier on you.

This is true, Mike was a big help to me. I am sure he got tired of me calling him, but he helped out everytime I called.;)

Today I found out what you meant - poor guy. I called him RIGHT in the middle of something everytime I called!
Thank god for him though; he totally saved my bacon.

Well, it's IN and it ROLLS ...
Guys, when the thing shifted gears I almost went through the top of the cab in my truck with excitement.
The process nearly gave me a heart attack... I know I over thinked it and that was why, but, the valve body came down and I realized there was no turning back...

Thank GOD (and Mike) all turned out well - I think the hardest part after the phone calls to Mike was getting that DARN valve keeper back in the shifter notch. I had to get my wife out there with a floor jack (I'm too round to get under the truck and actually move, and had no lift... i HIGHLY recommend a lift) to keep it in place for me while I maneuvered it a bit, then gave up, then maneuvered it a bit, and then gave up... then the last time it caught and I lined it up and bolted it in...

Got the fluid in, did the flush (Cakewalk) ... Checked my tranny fluid at 158 degrees was 3/4 of the way up from the cold hash marks right under the bottom of the 'hot' hashmark... tomorow I have to tow a trailer, so pray for me!

What a day!! :coolspot:
I'm tired, but, SO glad I got it done and it's working!!

I took a bunch of pictures, so I'll have to edit them and put them up... a trans-go Jr/ Hoot method DIY all in one!

Tomorow I have a horse show/schooling thing to goto about 4 hours away, so PRAY for me I did it right...

What's the point of those ball bearings? Is it just to give alittle extra pressure, or something to help the spring rotate around easier like heat? I only have one ball

What's it gonna effect? I have a shake in the whole truck when I want tired to move up the driveway. If It didn't come with them stock I figured it be okay? I believe I left it in the b, and the a doesn't have it

You sure your missing ball isn't lodged somewhere in the valve body where it doesn't belong? Don't know about the shake.

Yeah I'm sure. When I pulled it apart it was no where to be found. Looked at te Atsg manual and It didn't show either having one, so assumed it would be good. Figured it gave the spring something easier to ride on then the valve itself, an didn't matter. My buddy has my trans tore down now looking for something that's causin the shake... Last time I talked to him he said the c2 was showing some wear but nothing crazy. That was early this morning he texted me, idk how far in to it he's been since

The stock trim valves also don't have a hole drilled into the bottom of the valve. It isn't a stock valve and you need the check balls.
