Is there a different torque spec or procedure with these?

isn't the factory bolt a lot higher than 255?

I know it a certain number of degrees, but I thought I remembered someone posting the final torque was pretty high

74 ft-lbs plus 105 degrees. Which isn't much less than 255 ft-lbs total. It takes a lot of cranking to get that additional 105 degrees.

huh the factory bolt is less than 255?

I don't know why but I thought someone tried to measure the total torque of the factory bolt and it maxed out a 250 lb torque wrench

Could very well be. Sorry, I read your post wrong... I thought you were saying the ARP was many more.

Keep in mind I think the ARP one is 255 ft-lbs with ARP lube, which would be many more foot lbs dry...

Two different specs from some years 278 ftlb was the Lbz. Also all tq specs for factory is posted in the GM spec area.
