LBZ heads will accept both LLY or LBZ injectors. LBZ injectors and ECM are superior for racing apps. No FICM.

can you explain what in the ECM is "superior" for racing"? other than having no FICM. it just seems like a lot to claim since there are several High HP trucks still using LB7 or LLY-based ECM's.

well if i build a motor i will have dual CP3's anyhow so stock RP isn't too much of a concern

not talking about RP I am talking about the ECM will fuel up to 6k rpms but the lb7 ficm and ecm has problems proccesing fast enough to fuel that high.

Ben will have all the answers you need on this topic I am sure he will show up

Just no FICM and the injectors internally are of a better design. Given the choice between truck engines to hotrod, I'd start with the LBZ.

So you just boot the FICM?

Also would using the 5 speed alli matter?
Sounds like a neat swap to go from LLY to LBZ, if it could be done reasonably. LBZ's seem to run very well with mods like what i have but i have them on a LLY. :D

thats a bit different i have read that and subscribed to it but I am really torn between actually seeing gains by switching to an LBZ if possible with an ally 5 speed, or seeing gains and just the reliability factor by just switching to lly heads/injectors
