How much boost do you plan to run?
I think your intercooler would be fine, and with the right tuning, stock rods and studs should hold if tuning is kept conservative. No guarantees though-either way you are playing with fire IMO.

Not relevent but if it makes you feel any better I left a drill bit in the C3 clutch pack on my trans, same thing you did stopped between the build went outa town. Forgot that suker was in there and finished putting it together, It took a full week to figure that one out poor MikeL he got a few phone calls. :
Same intercooler as the lbz and mine is fine. Also before the motor build I was hard on it real hard 40 to 50 psi some blue bottle power and back fires and stock head bolts and head gaskets were fine just a cracked pistonat 31,500 miles.
Thanks guys much appreciated! It sounds like I have bigger things to worry about then headstuds! Should be fun tho.
