Are 9s achievable in the 1/4 with a 6 speed allison and 3.73 gears or are the 3.54 gears an absolute must to get into the 9s ? I'm guessing at the weight of my empty truck being approximately 5000# without driver .. Until I get my new setup put back together and back in my truck I won't be able to weigh it . Just curious how fast I can get my truck to go with my new setup on fuel and possibly spray it with a 125 jet single stage .

I checked out the last list for 10.99 or faster and I'm not really seeing anybody listed in the 9s still running the allison 6 speed or 5 speed for that matter. So Evan are you saying they are running 3.54s . I'm currently on 3.73s like the majority .

30" tire and 3.73 will get you the mph you need to go 9's. 3.42's will allow more tire options though.

The rest is up to you and the set-up.

Thanks guys , I street drive the truck more than I race it and have heard 3.42s are not so great on the street . Thinking about my shift points being 4800-5000 with the setup I'm putting together . May sell my tire and wheel combo and go to something like an M & H drag radial that's about 30" tall . I'm just in it for fun adrenaline rush with occasional track use . I'm not a bracket racer more of a heads up for fun . Prefer the filled wheel well look as well so 30" tal M & H is probably the ticket . Thanks again . Rob what kind of MPHs are people running in the high 9s ?

There are trucks in the 9's with Allison 5 speeds.

I'm running a mostly stock LB7, but I have no problems with my 3.42's street driven in a 7K+ lb SUBURBAN. I even tow 10K lbs with it every once in awhile with my 3.42's on stock height tires without issue.

you will be surprised on how much it will weigh still, I say right at 5500lbs if you have full interior/suspension :D

as far as the gears, like Rob said 3.73's have done it but 3.42's would probably be better.

FYI when I cross the traps at 135mph/30's/3.73 im right at 4100rpm.

I am running full factory interior but my suspension is not stock plus I converted my long bed to a short bed . We'll see how close you are on your guess of 5500 . So Hondarider , with you crossing the finish line at 4100 rpm, is that on straight fuel or with NOS ?

On spray.

I did away with my torsion bars, bracket as well as my leaf springs

5300 with you in it :D
