I watched three diesel Fords get stuck trying to launch their boats in muddy conditions last weekend so it reminded me to go look for the ARB locker they keep saying they will build for us. They finally announced it yesterday. Woo hoo!

Which vendors here can get it?

Cool thamks for the update!

although neat...i dont really see how that will provide any better traction then a trutrac....well unless you like to climb rocks

ARBs are far more rugged then the trutrac. When the lock the are as solid as a spool.

I can get ARB parts, obviously it wouldn't be in stock. Let me know if I can help you out with one.

Chad

Could you PM me a price.

ooh i know they are solid but i have a hard time seeing anyone break a trutrac...i have one on mine and that thing is beefy...

must less less complicated then an air locker and now she slides like my vette

Nobody would use this for daily driving would they?

Seems like it would be a pain to flick the switch on and off all the time while your driving around.

What about just putting one in the front? Seeing as my G80 locker works just fine in the back.

Pm me a price also.

I like the ability to turn it on and off, especially here where we get snow and ice.

Anytime you have more options, the price comes down on the whole market too :)

I used one in my car on the street. They aren't bad, and when your cruzin downtown you can leave it locked when you turn and it sounds like you have a spool:spit:

those are the exact reasons for a limited slip and not an air locker....to each his own but i have to once again say if your not climbing rocks at .3mph an air locker is pointless compared to a truetrac or other true limited slip

Depends on what your doing. The Trutrac is a nice street unit. But they are rather brittle for use in pulling. For a Streetable pulling truck the ARB is the way to go.

maybe on the street but other than that a limited slip is useless....lets head to the sand, snow, dirt....you get the limited and i get the air locker...on the way out of wherever we are going i'll stop to tow you out.

Randy's lists them on their website.

And this quote is from the press release that was posted earlier in the thread:
Seattle, August 25th/ ARB 4x4 Accessories/ To meet the voracious demands of the diesel dragsters, sled
pullers and four-wheelers alike, ARB is proud to include this impressively strong new model in their
Performance Air Locker Series. Designed for the 2000-06 GM 2500/3500 models and the 2003 and newer
2500/3500 Dodge Ram, this new 52 pound behemoth is the first of a new breed of heavy torque handling Air
Locking differentials.

off road is the locker better....yes by about .2% once again unless your rock climbing...ive had mine off road plenty of times and not just in mud holes but on high speed trails as well where a manual locker would be useless......she always gets good traction. way better then my g-80 ever did no more guessing when or if it is going to lock and no buttons to press or air pressure to keep an eye on....now i haven't pulled with it yet so i can onnly speculate but after checking that thing out i feels its far from brittle......but the locker may get you a tiny bit better traction....but the drive home in the rain will be far less fun
