I realize uca don't give lift; cognito advertises that their uca has the bumpstop positioned higher than oem- mine ended up with the same bumpstop to framestop clearance as the oem arms-partly the reason I bought them was to gain an extra inch from where I am now to level my truck.

The bumpstop clearance you are concerned with is the large lower one. The one on the upper makes no difference IMO. I raised the front of my LBZ over 2" and still had optimal bump stop clearance.

Lol no it's not. The cognito UCA is designed to allow more space between the UCA bumps top and the arm so that when you crank the front end, you still have down travel left in the suspension to give a smoother ride. Has absolutely nothing to do with the lower jouce bump stop

OP. does the rear end have any blocks in it?

The upper control arms give you at least an extra inch of torsion bar adjustment lift, did you bury the t bar adjustment bolts, or just set them at the same height?

Upper control arm level lifts aren't the best idea for your ifs, and all the steering components, if you have any sort of power you are gonna put a lot of stress into your c/v axle and one of them may break doing boosted launches.

The upper control arms definitely add droop, therefore add adjustment in the torsion bars to give height. When I had just the upper control arms I was able to fit a 285/75/18 (35x11.5) tire, with the right wheel, I think I got about 2" additional clearance from the cognito control arms to give me a total of almost 4" over stock height with the t bar bolts almost fully turned up ( now i run a 4" kit and the same tire and have all my suspension travel and superb ride quality:D) I still had about 1/2" space between the upper bump stop and the frame stop. The ride was pretty rough, and once I built my transmission and loaded the race tune, I busted a c/v axle on the first boosted launch:(
:roflmao:

EDIT: +230whp tune

Did you add the extended lower shock mount? The stock shock and mount are not long enough to allow the cognito upper control arms to fully droop out. So the shock will be keeping the suspension cycle limited, that's not good either. I have a lower mount set I would be willing to send you, and actually, I have a complete set of bilstien 5100 shocks that are 1" longer stroke on the front, for a leveled truck, I ran them for a year, maybe 15k miles, the set was close to $380 new, I will sell you all four shocks and the cognito extended lower shock mount for $150 shipped:thumb: if you are interested.

You will need longer front shocks or extended front shock mounts. Also if your torsion bars are cranked all the way and you need to go higher you will have to install leveling keys.

Yeh thanks, I've got the shock bracket extension and 1" longer skyjacker gas shocks so I'm good there. I think I've got as much lift as possible with my 05 suspension; Ive heard something was changed starting in 06 that gives the trucks more of a level stance stock. I am just confused with ending up with the same bump stop clearance as oem ucas.Wondering if anyone else had noticed- Thank guys for your input.

Alright, you have the extra stuff already to help, thats good. i haven't heard anything about pre 06 trucks being harder to level? I had an 01 that leveled out just fine, to w/in 1/2" but it was a 1500 gasser, then I had a 07 classic 1500hd that leveled out pretty good too, my 07 classic 2500hd duramax got w/in 1/2" of the rear as well, the ride suffered severely on all three trucks...and the last two were both 07 classics...

never got an answer for my question. Do you have any sort of blocks in the rear end?

pictures of the gap and how your truck currently sits would help
