Most do the A pillar the new A pillar plastic isn't very costly if you ever want to go back to stock. On the older trucks a pod like that cannot be used not enough space. Anything like that being held up with double sided tape isn't that secure specially with 2/3 gauges.

Although it looks nice not sure I would go that route without a better mount. Being held up by the mirror wouldn't fly.

Mine is a 4 gauge, and I'm not having any kind of problem.

Oops I guess they will work on older trucks I thought they needed to be mounted near the overhead but I guess you can move it over as it's for classics and down. Don't care for the Velcro mount. I've seen some industrial strength Velcro . Maybe that's what you need.

It came with the industrial velcro and it is staying put in the back it just droops down in the front. I guess I just got a lemon pod :( I've had it for years.

If I start going to the track more I'll probably switch to the A pillar as the gauges are easier to see.

I'm sure there are many out there pleased with it like you. I just don't prefer that style of mount and with my luck would be in the sagging group. Although it's probably all about the install. If I'm reading it correct it comes with Velcro and you opted for double sided tape and ensuring that the tab portion is well pushed in under the liner . Maybe these guys are listening

The a pillar mounts may be a bit easier to glance at, but not much. I went with the over mirror on the Sierra as I found the a pillar in the Tahoe annoying on sweeping left hand curves. Plus, the over mirror is less obvious. I mean, after all, stealth is important when driving a 20 foot long, bright red, 7000 lb vehicle... ;). :woott:

Stealth was what I was going for when I went this route. Tried to stay stock looking. :woott: :)

I had a pillar mount and liked this better. I bought the over-the-mirror mount but never got around to trying it when I found this Trippin' mount. My DSP5 switch is also in the mount.
