And how many post have been deleted here from madmatt and othrgrl here in the past week or 2 ?? I understand why certain post are deleted, I also understand why I leave a lot of those post.

Were the deleted post here informative, or usefull? There is a reason for moderation. I just see some moderators overstep the boundary. Some times things get out of hand, or someone is grabing some free advertising, but a member with no ties should in my opinion be allowed to discuss the vendor they used without fear of a moderator beat down, and post to technical information should only be moderated if they have no relevancy.
I met all 3 of the original DP mods, I actually drove Hoot to CT the first time they actually met(a tree fell on his truck). I will admit they crossed the line more times than I can count, I'd still hang out with them and I still say there good people. Opinions and emotion are to often drug into moderators decissions and power, no matter how insignificant, gets to people. The best moderator for a automotive forum IMHO would be someone who doesn't drive.
That being said I haven't noticed any problems with abuse of moderation here, and only notice one mod in perticular over on DP.

He went off on Ben just last week, and somebody else in OT as well. Radar came in and cleaned up the OT post that Randy went off in though, so you can't find it now.
He went off worse than that on somebody else after he did this one to you. Radar cleaned it up because a bunch of other members came in and pointed it out and said this is how the mods act to set an example. I noticed he wasn't on for a day or 2 after that incident though, so maybe he got a private reprimand for it.
You got the wrong guy, I haven't cleaned up any threads in weeks.

To be precise, I wasnt on for 4 days. It wasnt reprimand though....Counter-IED training & a machine gun shoot. ;)

It's pretty rare for us to delete posts, give time-outs, etc.

It happens, for sure, but there is very little need for moderation here, so very little moderation gets done. Our moderators are actually here to help members with tech, nobody likes babysitting.

#1 thing that causes a Delete? If a sponsor of this site complains that a non-vendor who is in competition with them is posting advertisements, then we look at the post, and decide.

If nobody complains, it stays.

I'd also like to point out that vendor fees do not pay the costs of this site. Our goal is not money, but info. But info includes what parts are available for our trucks. So we originally had free advertising. You'd think that would be great. Nope. People sometimes treat things based on what they pay for them, and many of those who got free ads treated members here poorly, or constantly fought with other vendors.

So we have a fee of $500 a year to prove a vendor is serious, and it's working. Vendor/Vendor bash-fests are pretty rare (they do happen) now.

I like how all the mods and admins come here and sign up just to make their statement. They cant moderate, they have to argue and be right and have power. You notice we end up with all the dp mods over here at some point. The ones with issues have like 5-10 posts here, and the good ones, stay and continue to post. They become a real member here, not a little DP troll. I would assume we get 80% of every mod/admin signed up here, even when they change (so its continuous) and then half of them usually stick around and the DP kinda washes away like it has for many members.

How many former mods do we have here that are regular members??
How many current mods are here that are regular members?
:D

I'm a former DP mod, but I resigned shortly after the changeover to AutoForums because I didn't like the way things were going and my opinions weren't being listened to.

I was a mod there I believe. I don't know if I was one of the best as described but I took no shit and wasn't ever afraid to get my feelings hurt. In other words I didn't care if someone liked me or not. :D

I was released of my duties (Thanks Rick you asshole) because I didn't like the way things were being handled by Baby Boy and was a constant thorn in their ass. No need to go into anymore needlesstosay there was a lot of underground stuff going on even with in the ranks of Admins and Lead Mods. Along with their wishy washy policies . They couldn't make a decision to save their asses. Talk and Talk and talk ,friggen ridiculous!

Ya I'm here where else there to go?  :woott:

Yea, no problem with anything from me here Pat. I never see what Matt posted so I don't know the issue. I'm not here for that purpose anyway.

Used to be banned from most of these sites at one time or other. I'm on the diesel place for years now as rocket281... they still won't give me "hoot" back.

Just stopping by to say hello!
