Day 3 I think.
Started off with more coffee, packing up and driving. Went through Knoxville, stopped at a recommended brew pub, which I highly recommend and all my companions do too.
Made our way into Cherokee NC, stopped and chased another waterfall. Got to camp, set up and made dinner. Deer tenderloin, potatoes and broccoli.
We camped next to the river so it was great for sleeping.

Been around that area more than a few times on vacation. Beautiful countyside. Glad you're having fun, Corbin.

Day 4, rough one actually.
We hiked to the top of Mt Leconte in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. Was a touch over 11 miles round trip according to the girls Apple Watch. I carried about a 30lb pack with the food and water for the day. Took us a little over 6 hours round trip.
we stopped at the shelter at the top, which is where you can backpack camp to. Ended up finding a few guys there cooking their lunch. One of them was generous enough to offer me a beer. Which was hilarious to our group because on the hike up all I wanted at the top was a beer.

TX of course
I love hiking, but that's to hard core for me. I ain't doing 11 miles in the snow unless I'm trying to kill something.

Day 5.
recovery day.
Myself and my gal went to the local gym, got a good workout in, took a hot shower and got ready for the day.
went and had cheddars for lunch, talked to a nice older couple behind us who come here frequently and reminded me a lot of my grandma and my grandpa I just recently lost. Quickly after we sat down at our table the hostess came and gave us a gift card from the older couple! Just when you’ve almost lost faith in humanity there’s people like that.
After lunch we ran around a little then met Zak who was on his was from work to home. We had a few beers at the Mexican place.
Finally last night for New Years we did an escape room, pretty fun but I’m not a mystery buff enough to know how to play lol. Overall fun though.
Happy New Years folks!

Day 6.
Rain. I did laundry, we saw Wonder Woman 84, tried to do a couple touristy things but lines were to long. Went souvenir shopping. Thought about getting one of these shirts as I have a partial Weiner (dog that is). And sunset was nice last night

Day 7, travel day.
Unexpectedly traveled home yesterday. We had planned to camp near mammoth cave in Kentucky. However cave tours being super limited and short, being ready to get home, and work starting Monday we decided to just head on home. Got in about midnight last night.

All in all a great trip, 1800 miles, 190 gallons of fuel, 7 nights in the tent, a lot of great food, zero hiccups. We can’t wait to go again.

The truck will be undergoing some changes soon I hope. Changing the roof tent setup so I put this one on the market along with the arb basket.
