Another weekend camping. Took the whole crew this time, phenomenal views with the leaves changing.

That’s awesome Corbin. Spent my weekend prepping for a 400 mile trip this upcoming weekend. 100 miles to Cali, then 200 dirt miles, 100 miles back

No cool roof top tent but I did pick up a tent that sets up on the ground in about a min. Way better than the old pole style

I like the CV axle idea. Could of used one or two before. Ended up just separating the halves leaving the section in the wheel

You’ve got er loaded down! What are you doing for fuel storage? Or is there fuel along the way?

Also forgot to add earlier.

In true versatility form: the camp set up pic was at 8 am this morning in the National Forest. At 1:00 I hooked on to this and took to the customer.

There is fuel along the way but I have a 5 gal Jerry can that goes on the back tire swing out if I’m not sure when we will see fuel. Second pic is an older one of the swinger that stays attached to the back door so it all opens with the single door latch and doesn’t let that spare bounce back and forth when I’m hammering through the desert. Bottom of it has an old bearing welded on that sits in a notch in the bumper to keep it from rocking and support the weight.

This go round, we start in Indio, CA, head up the summit, fuel up, then head south from the I10 into the bradshaws all the way to the Colorado River. Camp there, explore south and east of there and then head home Sunday. I drive by this area every time I go to Glamis and have wanted to explore it for years. Finally get a chance to.

Does anyone watching this thread know if the 12v charge wire on the 7 pin rv plug is hot all the time or only when the truck is running?

Currently not where I can test it and find out.

Potentially adding a fridge/ freezer combo soon and a deep cycle battery in the bed. I’m wondering if I’ll need to put an isolator on it to keep from drawing off the crank batteries:

Small upgrade this weekend along with a full drawer system rebuild. Picked up a used Ex85 snowmaster dual zone unit.

The old set up

Ran out of 1x8 so we took the rubi on its first work trip.

Drawers fully extend, leaving more storage room than I previously had

Battery setup, will be tied into the truck batteries. Fridge will shut down at specified voltage. Also runs on 115 so it can be plugged in if stationary for multiple days. Maybe I’ll add a solar panel when I get a hardshell tent.
