I thought LC was only availabe as cax file add ons? Not actually in the stock OS tune

Lean cruise is in all of the LS1B OS's up through about 04 maybe up to 06. It was originally added by the Holden guys down under. Since it's in the base code, GM just turned it off for the north american market. The CAX file is used to turn it back on.

I have messed with my 04 LQ4 I putin my 86 K10, One thing I know helps is to lock the convertor up sooner in 2nd-4th, use the TCC pressure table and max out the ramp up rate fort the pressure so that when you let off the trottle and get back on it it will lock the convertor again faster, before mine would be unlocket for 5-6 seconds in 4th and now it is 1-2 seconds to lockup after letting off the throttle. I havent used a wide band yet but at 75 on the freeway with 4:10's mine can get about 14mpg with 285's 3:73's for my application would ahve been better but this is what i had.

I've dabbled in a little LS tuning. Just stock stuff. Coming from diesel tuning the gains are nothing to write home about. A little better throttle response and elimination of that 'dead' feeling that comes right after an upshift.

The 2003 LQ4 has 10 metric shit tons of tq management, and a super lame set of spark tables. There is a lot of throttle response & torque to be gained everywhere, and those improvements will net positive improvements in MPG's when driven responsibly.

A good tune will be night & day improvement.
