Anyone else having issues with new water pumps

Well I noticed antifreeze under my truck again and after investigating I found fluid leaking from the water pump weep hole. Apparently this only leaks when static, with no pressure. This is my 5th water pump since I have done the delete during COVID.

I cannot get a good water pump. Or can anyone suggest what could be going on if not the pump? Always leaks from the water pump shafts.

We’ve only been using OE Acdelco at the shop. Been good for us

The last pump they put on they say was AC delco. Damn COVID bullshit.

You very well could have something adding pressure to the system, too.

Was it OEM AC Delco or AC Delco Professional? The OEM is the only one I'll use.

I've had zero issues out of the OEM AC Delco. As Josh pointed out, OEM AC Delco and AC Delco Professional are not the same parts.

Are you sure that the leak is from the weephole and not somewhere else? Looked at the oil cooler? Seems strange that it does not leak while running.

Going back to the leak, I would make sure you don't have a head gasket or something else going on causing excess pressure in the cooling system.

I did pressure checks and the shop said no leaks and no head gasket the last time we swapped out the water pump.

I’m going to have them do another pressure and head gasket checks first to verify if in fact it’s leaking through the wp weep hole and go from there.

An anyone tell me the difference between GMC OEM, Gold or silver. Due to multiple water pump issues I want to make sure I don’t get junk again.
