Anyone broken their bed mount bolts?

I have pulled more beds off these trucks than I can count with friends, etc. so of course when I go to pull my own off I break two of them. I soaked them with PB Blast beforehand, did not use an impact, heated, all the right things. I assume there is a nut on the backside of the bed rail that is tacked on, much like the body mounts? Sounds like quite a pain in the ass to get in there and fix. I broke the two middle on the driver side. Anyone have this problem?

Several times. They stay on with 2 bolts lol

Yea, just cut a notch in the bed rail to get the broken piece out and put and bolt and nut back in

Cut a notch so you can get a wrench or vice grips on the nut? Or did you weld a new nut on?

I had that problem, the cutting torch fixed it though, ha ha it was time for a flat bed
