i removed all my seats and console, dropped the headliner, and just worked around it. The roof made a big difference in the rain, it doesn't sound like a tin can anymore.

That has to be a pain to work around it. I was tons cared to mess with it. Damn LMM's have aost white headliners and get dirty so easy

I used ebay fatmat. $2 a sq ft. 50 sqft did the entire floor of the cab and a double layer on the trans tunnel and front floor pans. Eventually I'll do the doors and rear wall. Just what I did made a big difference

It definitely was not fun, there is a dirty fingerprint or two on my headliner now but it was worth it.

So that's only one layer on most of the floor? Do you remember about how much a 50ft roll weighed? Thanks

Yes. I did 2 coats of cheap roll on bedliner, one layer of fatmat over the whole floor then the leftover in another layer as mentioned. Then the factory insulation mat then my factory vinyl floor. Don't remember what it said on the shipping label. I'd guess around 20lbs.

I wonder how is the fitment like the headliner and other areas with the thickness of the sound dead-ner put in then putting interior pieces back.

Also on the doors how do you work around the window mech? Or do you just cover what you can not every square inch?

Curious....

x2 and my luck id break the headliner taking it down  as far as the doors Ive replaced the window mechanics and there not hard to take out. I think with those removed it would be fairly simple to get most everywhere in the door. From what ive read the more coverage the better but some is defiantly better than none if you cant get it everywhere.

I'd imagine 1/8 inch wouldn't be to bad but the thicker the quieter I assume. I couldn't imagine 1/2 inch and not expect problems. But nonetheless the interior pieces aren't designed for something to be added . Other obviously others have done it what kind of issues did you run into?

Headliner you can go thicker than you think, I wouldn't go putting MLV up there but a layer of deadener, CCF and acoustic thinsulate would be fine.
