Im am part of Wyotech Alumni, From Laramie Campus...:hello:....But you knew that already Adam
Heres my lil Wyotech story for those intrested
I Likeed it alot, aside from Laramie bein kinda boring but plenty of fun if your an outdoorman and or know where to look for fun
Not too many CTD's while i was there but i had a gasser furd ranger at the time.
Iy is indeed a very, "Get what you take from it" learning. I went there on a mission and learned a ton and got alot out of it. I was fortunate to also have the toughest, most strict and knowledgable instructors anong the way, and thats a good thing! I took pride in it and that pays back too yourself.
I took:
*Automotive Technoledgy
-6mo main course
*Chassis Fab & Hi Perf. engines
-3mo secondary course
During my schooling for the whole 9 months, I nearly attained perfect attendance, i was late 15 seconds, one time due to bad weather so i got Outstanding att. instead. Through automotive, besides training, earned, MACS Cert., ASE A/C cert., and ATRA cert. My attendance and grades earned me an entrance test for the BMW S.T.E.P program, pretty tough and elite. Payed for by BMW if passed and i did, got factory training and have been a Certified BMW tech since, but i work for an independant shop for last 5+ yrs.
Through Chassis Fab/Hi-pef Engines, I learned alot and had a lot of fun! Learned alot on fabrication and welding from what i already knew. Learning to TIG weld was fantasitc. I excelled at it too! I was told by my instructors that i could Out-Tig them and was the best in our class, very proud of that. Learned to do some basic machining work with a lathe and endmill, fantastic! Made some rotor hats for a SCORE Toyota, tools for the lathe, and some nice dimpling dies that are owned?used buy shane on TLC's Overhaulin. He was in our class, and works for Robbie Gordon now besides Overhaulin!
I really enjoyed it alot and got alot out of it! Stuff I use everyday! My only regret is not taking Diesel, wasnt following the scene at that time or ida been all over it!
Stay on your toes, take tons of notes, be a sponge, push yourself and you'll get what your after!
