This seems to be a popular topic lately but I've got a different type of question.
I just had a pole barn put up behind my house, nothing too big or fancy..it's a 27x40x12 and I'm going to be pouring a 4 inch with rebar floor(4000psi) in it realatively soon and I would like to put a hoist in(2 post, 9k) but I don't have the funds to do it right away. I asked my concrete guy about this and he said to figure out where I wanted the posts to be and he would put in some anchors in the ground to secure that area better(he called them something different than anchors) but anyway my question is are all the feet where you would have the anchor bolts different with each lift? I was just thinking if I knew the measurements before we poured the pad we could put some threaded sleeves in the pad so when the time comes you wouldn't have to drill holes for the anchors. Im guessing I would have to know exactally which lift I wanted to be able to do this? Just looking for some feedback from you guys..and maybe this wouldn't even work I don't know.

Just make sure to pour the conc. a little thicker in two square areas where its going to be sitting. I think most lifts (in the capacity to hold a dmax) call for at least 5" of thickness (mainly for the expansion anchor). Maybe hit 6"-7" in those two areas where the lift will sit to be on the safe side and leave room for a bigger lift if you change your mind..

Also dont install anchors/j-bolts, as when you install the lift, you will use expansion anchors that will be drilled when the lift is installed.

EDIT: drilling holes and installing expansion anchors is no big deal. It will prolly take less time doing that then trying to setup some sort of pre installed anchor.

We went over kill poured the area around the lift 12" thick by 3'x 40'. Saw a lift tilt inward once with a dually so we went over kill in the big shop only one lift is mounted and room for the others.
