Do those seats sit up high, like almost too high? A lot of the bucket seat conversions I've seen seem to leave the seats up too high if they're on the swapped seat's tracks & mounts.

They are taller, but I like it. The factory square seats always felt to low to me though

Hell yeah! Sweet truck, minus the powertrain and front clip

Right!? I wanted to go back to the 79 front end until I realized it had an entire front clip swapped. Looks like it’ll just get a factory grill

Who do people do that stupid shit. ugly grille, ugly square headlights with ugly marker lights and horizontal fender markers, personally all fender markers lights are hideous but at least the vertical ones aren't terrible.

The best you can do for cheap is a factory grille, in the long run if it was mine I'd swap the front end back to 79 and shave the fender markers.

Stupid question I know. I’ve never ran anything with a divorced transfer case. The transfer wasn’t mounted when I got the truck so I’m building crossmembers for that. Can a divorced case be solid mounted? I assume it needs to be mounted on flex mounts for vibration reasons. But thought I’d ask.

you can solid mount it but i wouldnt. any type of driveline vib will transmitted terribly. plus the torque of towing and that engine would make, you REALLY need to make a strong ass mount if going solid. As in, encompassing the case with mounting points so you dont break the t-case case.

I assume you are putting a divorced 205 in there?

^He is right you know. The round setup is probably my favorite that exists from GM in that body style.

I thought that would be the case. It won’t be much more work to incorporate a rubber trans mount into the build.

It’s actually a divorced 208 set up. Weird I know. I’m on the lookout for a divorced 205.

ew... make sure the chain is tight inside

lot of guys solid mount the case to the crossmember but then rubber bush or use urethane mounts at the frame. i would go rubber bushing being this is a street rig, not a crawler.

Yeah it’s different lol. But it has brand new drive shafts for it so I’m going to utilize it a while.
