Another new guy

Hey dudes,

Just wanted to introduce myself. Steve here from the Boston area. New to forum and new to diesel's. just picked up a 2008 GMC 2500 CC Z71 LT with the LMM with only 55k on her. Pretty much stock except for a banks exhaust and air. I've been creeping in the background for a while and decided it was time to belly up to it. Hoping to learn a lot here from everyone and I'm sure I will. Glad to be aboard.

Just had Race Ready Fabrications, LLC in New Hampshire do my EfiLive dsp5 by ppei and down pipe back PDF delete with a 4" proflo! Wow what a difference!

Haha not real sure yet. But Kept my banks exhaust in case I need to bolt back on to pass. Got 10 months to determine.

You will most likely need to bolt the dpf back in place and reflash the computer to stock. We do it to my buddy's 08 every spring.

Hey guys what's up with the hissing upon startup? Kind of driving me nuts a little. It goes away within a minute or so but I don't really understand why it's writin into the tune.

Yea thought I read somewhere it's the vane position shifting around or something. I just don't understand the purpose and would like it not todo that if it doesn't have too. Is anyone else hearing this EfiLive by ppei?

It's your turbo. You can get it tuned out but you will have turbo lag.

All vgt turbos sound like that. That's why the 6.7 Cummins sound really funky. If you want it gone put you a good s400 frame turbo on it:thumb:
