They Break!

Here is what happened to my aluminuim rod in my race engine while in second place 40mins into a 45min main. Went over a big jump. Hit the throotle right before it was going to hit the down side. It went bang! I was good 50' from it and could hear it clearly. This was out my Mugen Seiki MBX-5 Prospec 1/8 racer. This was the cheap engine. Luckly my high dollar JP Racing Mod never did that.

dang John! Blowed it up good!:spit: I havent seen or heard too much problems from OS rods breaking. I have see plenty of FUBAR'ed Traxxas 2.5's with busted rods, a few windowed blocks too! The stock TRX rod is know to snap. Looks like your OS got kinda crispy too! Ive never really hurt a motor, other parts are another story!

That motor that 20+ gallons thru it. I sqeezed the sleeve twice. It owed me nothing. I never over temped my engines. That one looked like that because it had over an hour of run time on it just that day. I qualified crappy and had to bump out of the B main. My radio can datalog. IIRC it was 230* when it decided to leave the party. Now if I pinch a sleeve I always repace the rod.

Nitros are out dated now. Brushless and lipos are faster, cheaper, and more reilable. But now cool noise!:baby:

Id like to have a TRX Slash. There is a fun stock class out here for them and is a blast so i hear. There a fun truck to drive! I never was an electric guy but ive changed my mind on them since the brushless revolution! Im still a nitro nut though! Id love to have an 1/8th scale on-road! Thats some big bucks, and need a place to play with it.

Nomadio Sensor with all the gadgets. Good part about being a sponsored driver.

I am thinking about getting back into this winter and racing some indoor. MBX6 with Brushless LiPo power sounds like fun. Get a AE short course truck for my boys. but then I would need one to.:happy2:

I really like them. We have a very good indoor offroad track about an hour drive from my house. Some of the best racers in the midwest play there. I have a large collection of RCs. 2 RCB4s, 2RC10T4s, JConncepts BJ4, Jconncepts BJ4 Worlds(chassis #4:) ), Tmaxx, Revo, and the mighty Mugen Seiki MBX-5 Prospec. Like everything I do I get carried away.

The real story!@

Accelerator (Wade Moody) says he is going to run some custom aluminum diesel rods. A lot of folk called BS.

Not so fast.

We found out where he buys them:
Aluminum Diesel Racing Rods

pat stealing kat's computer when she's out in the garage

 i have posted plenty of pictures of my rods if some of you are still claiming BS i can make a new thread all about them! Good thread though!:D
