The bad thing about buying a trans and installing it yourself (or even having it installed somewhere) is making sure the cooler is properly flushed. When the converter comes apart the debris goes right to the cooler, and a plugged cooler can cause several problems.

I hauled mine 530 miles to get it built in time to got back to work.

Piss on a precision converter, I hate mine compared to my 1057 I had in my first truck.

The 57 was harsh but it did what I wanted, the precision is more for the softer DD guy.

Zero, nada, nothing wrong with Precision ML converter on a stockish truck.

Just make dang sure its not a blue Precision of NewHampshire (or whatever freaking state those POS things come from) that your shop is recommending.

I'm babying it like you wouldn't believe. It shudders on lock up even on my stock tune. It's a matter of time. Hell could be tomorrow when I head into work.

As bad as your converter is; I would go see Josh and have him put his 6,000.00 cooler flusher on it along with building your trans. You will never get the crap out of the cooler without that machine.
Josh fixed one of my transmissions that I shipped to Texas that plugged the filters after a year and a half. He found nothing wrong with the trans and Goerend found nothing wrong in the converter. Hard to believe that crap didn't come out till a year and a half later.
