I would get in touch with Tim Hecker to have it built out your way. I can PM you his number if you'd like.
x2 for that area.
That's what I'm thinking also I really don't want to screw it up and than have to pay someone to fix it anyways M&M quoted me $3800 for the whole job 3year 36000 mile waranty said he would guaranty it to 650hp?
A friend of mine uses them to build all of his gasser pulling truck trannys and says they do awesome work
That's too cheap to be done right, whats their labor rate? I am guessing with a price like that he's not using much for parts. Not trying to be a negative nancy, but many have been screwed over on their allison builds in the past whether the shop meant well or not.
You can do it yourself if you want, it's not that hard, all of us that have built them took the plunge at one time. I spent too many days on my personal one my first time, many calls to Mike, and in the end broke the rear housing. Doesn't matter how many you do, every trans has its own little quirks it seems. Win some loose some. If you do it, just pay attention to the little things and keep everything neat clean and organized. Theres only a few special tools you will need to make, they are easy to make.
Heres a picture after stripping everything down and cleaning it. If this picture makes you reach for the Xanax, maybe have it built, its really not as complicated as it seems though but it's not as easy as bolting some parts on either.
Some guys have held power with a stock trans. That is the exception, not the rule. You need to do some searching on the DP as we learned all this shit 10 years ago when we all belonged there.
Trip down memory lane, been awhile since those days.
