That cooler is not going to help when it's 15 degrees out and the trans is getting to 290 degrees....obviously there is a problem. In that kind of cold weather you'd be lucky to see 150 or 175 degrees. I'm sure the op wants to fix it not try and mask the problem. Besides I'd buy mikes cooler long before any of the others.

yes I would love to not have to deal with this issue anymore lol if I were going to buy a cooler......after doing some reading it would be Mikes cooler.

okay guys I'm having an issue again. pulled the trans today and put the new converter in it. change both filters again all new fluid and flushed the lines. on initial fire up the gear selector lights did not work, I unplug and replug the big plug in going to the transfer case... that got the indicator lights working but now I guess its in limp mode because it is in 4th gear when in drive

now after restarting it after cycling the key 3 times it was in first when I put it in drive took it for a test drive and it went from first and bangin to 2nd and won't shift out of second

Let us know what codes you get. Could be the nsbu switch like my truck. Mine is an 2002 so could be completely different for all I know Allison's.

Codes i pulled are, p0700 p0713 p0762 p0979 p0741 p0708. I'm just hoping its something not plugged in the best or something stupid because it worked when pulled and now it doesn't lol

ok guys well thanks for the help, I'm retarded and over looked a sensor when putting the trans back in....found it, plugged it in and it works great again. lol :thumb:
