Transfer case is most likely trashed....Have you checked the fluid in the trans?

Buddies truck was like this a month or so ago, xfer case trashed, rear housing of tranny toast and was puking trans fluid everywhere.

i def wouldn't drive it anywhere.

Try bringing the fluid level back down to the bottom of the hot grid and see if that makes a difference. Then get back to us.

so for got to mention when i first bought the truck i noticed it was leaking tranny fluid so the fixed it a put a new seal on the back of the tcase where the drive shaft goes into. so on my way home from the shop i was a block from my street put it in N an felt a clank then back in D an it went into limp mode so they came an towed it and said it was the valve body. They fixed it an i picked it up an now 8 days later its over heating and leaking.also the tcase has slipped the sleeve out along with the seal?have no idea me an my dad cant figure it out and i put all the money i had to a down payment. Sorry for the long read but i need help.Mike L if u read please call me number is above. Thanks everyone.

Check the Tcase fluid. Pick up on the rear driveshaft. I had this happen, I was on a trip about 900 miles from home the Tcase leaked its fluid out and self destructed. When I pulled the drain plug I got nothing but shavings.. And I could lift the driveshaft up about 1/2 inch.

Mike is a busy guy. Give him another call. The best thing to do is to keep trying.

I have found him very helpful, but the call has always been on my dime.

Also, take a close look at the t-case again. It may have been leaking from the rear seal, but it may also have a small hole in the rear case half from pump rub.

This will give you an idea of where to look for the potential hole: http://www.merchant-automotive.com/tech/tcp.pdf

There is a cheaper fix than the MA one, and Mike and others have the steel plate that goes between the pump and the rear case half.
