It takes a trained eye to see a pump that is about to go out. They will transfer metal from one side to the other.
Pump gears are made of sintered metal ( powdered steel compressed ) This makes a better bearing surface for better wear. Kinda like babbit bearings on the crank minimizing wear. The pump gears are harder and are prone to gaul ( transferring metal from one side to the opposing side ) Once you see the slightest gauling; your pump is done.
Wonder how many alli's have been built with weak ass pumps that are about to grenade.
Wonder why you have weird problems after a so called build? Throwing a clutch pack into the trans will put you back on the same road of disaster as you are trying to fix. you must look deeper.
