Allison deep pan vs. PPE or ATS?

Input on deep transmission pans, I'm in the process of a built transmission and I want to keep it cool as possible. I understand the concept of more fluid and cooling properties because of it. My question is with the PPE and ATS with the cooling fins,is it beneficial enough to spend the additional 160 dollars give or take vs a deep Allison pan? I'm not looking for the cheap way out just curious on temperature differences with or without fins? PPE advertises "as much as" a 40 degree reduction. Thanks in advance!

A deep pan won't keep it cooler. It will just take longer to get there.

Id rather spend the money on an upgraded cooler.

Oem allison deep pan is $55 from allison. That's the only pan I'd ever recommend anyone buy. Take the $300+ the ppe pan costs and put that into a new cooler, better all around.

I always use the allison pans on trans that i build. Most of the time the trans i get here to build look like the bottom of the pan has been molested. Just easy to start with a fresh pan. and lets everyone feel better since they can say they have a deep pan.

The only advantage I see in deep pan is more fluid capacity. It does not mean it will help to keep it cool, but the fluid stays cleaner much longer reducing the risk of high contamination in low fluid capacity. I'd still keep changing the fluids and filters at the recommended intervals.

I went with a ppe stock capacity pan. Makes it easier and more stable on my trans lift. Plus I got it cheap.
