I’m just asking questions I’m not a dumbass I’ve already talked to several transmission specialists whether creditable or not trying to get several different opinions...guess that’s a mistake trying to do so on here . These forums are made for what? Helping others is what I thought, not being dicks about your information sorry I didn’t ask 10 years ago when ya all’s were going through the same stuff I am now. I’ve read forum after forum and I can draw a line 50/50 of what do. Some say go this way others say no don’t do that do this.

Ok I’m not a complete idiot you don’t have to talk to me like I’m a child. And stock is 430 hp to the wheels i dont know how that converts to your 250 rwhp

What trimox was describing was a transmission limp. Once you get that far, a build is your only recourse.

430hp to the wheels? Assuming you own an LB7 or LLY, you're looking at 250-260 to the rear wheels. Add your max tuning to that, you might be at 430, which means trimox's statement will be true for you earlier than later...

Come to think of it, you never did state what year truck you have, what your current mods are, and what your future goals are. How about we start all over with that info first? I know a few guys have asked that, and you havent been forthcoming....

Please explain to me where you got 430hp at the wheels on any 5 speed Duramax? That is not stock. No way no how. What are your mods?

You said you have a LB7, the first generation of Duramax. It was rated 235 HP until 2004, where they upped it to 300 HP at the crank. We have dyno'd dozens of them stock, and they make 250 HP at the wheels on the later OS.

There isn't a stock Duramax out there that makes 430 HP to the wheels either. Even the 2017+ L5P (445 HP at the crank) only makes 403 HP at the wheels.

This is why we are starting to treat you like an idiot. You are full of crap. It is one thing to not know, e.g. "I don't know what stock power is", but it is something else entirely to think you know and be totally wrong. That is where you are at right now. That is why you are being condescended to somewhat. Stop spouting BS, start asking questions that show you are learning, and you will be treated much better. Not just here, that is true everywhere in life.

OK, once again, this forum is not for us to help everyone. It is an enthusiast board where people gathered to share information and push boundaries. Sure, there are some forums designed to help everyone, but you've found one that isn't. It is a public forum because anyone could have useful information or ideas, and we do end up helping people, but IT IS NOT OUR JOB. The attitude where you (and most other new users lately) have this entitled mindset really grates on the nerves of the people who could help you, but again, DON'T HAVE TO HELP YOU. Especially when all the information is out there on the forum, just search for it.

If you don't know how one of these transmissions fails, after 3 days of us telling you to start reading, you are possibly beyond help. We've spoon fed you quite a lot of good information, and told you how to find the rest. We have told you what we recommend (build first, 6 speed later) and why. You have to make your own decision, which means learn the facts, then decide. So go learn the facts! It's free.

A fella told me that a stock 5 speed tranny can withhold up to 430 hp to the wheels. Just was stating what I had heard

Some facts and opinions about the 6 speed kit and building a transmission.
Ok thank you for your opinion all I’m really looking for is real opinions....good job

Correcting your statements about HP (direct quoted what you said) and explaining why people are getting fed up.

Are you bipolar? Go back and read, carefully read, what everyone, including you, has written. So were you trying to say a stock 2001-2004 Allison will hold 430 WHP? It won't. I smoked mine with 425 WHP, and that's all documented here, including the tune I was running to kill it. Took 60k miles, but I was careful about the 4<-->5 shifts. Why that is necessary is also all on here. But you already know the answers, it seems. So what is it you want from us again?

I can't help you with your problems. I tried to give information, I tried to explain how to present yourself to best get answers here, and this is what happens. Good luck, I'm out.

Please turn your ears of and start reading, because whoever your listening to does not know what the are talking about. If I have to ask specifics about the mods to your truck that means you don't know. But we will start slow since I have had a few adult beverages. What kind of tunes do you have on your truck? Who is the tuner? A waste to type but does it has an upgraded turbo? And no at this point we don't need to know what stereo you have put in the truck.

What information do you need? Like I said no one has asked specifics I don’t know what to respond

What year truck do you have? What modifications have you done to the truck so far? What tuning? Different turbo? Exhaust/intake? What are your goals with the truck in the future? 500rwhp? Sled pulling? Drag racing? Towing heavy?
All this information matters.

A fella told me that a stock 5 speed tranny can withhold up to 430 hp to the wheels. Just was stating what I had heard

So you're going to believe "some fella" over the guys who have lived this hobby for the past 15 years and know the Dmax drivetrain forward and back?? O-kay.
Im starting to think you are just trolling us, and b/c of that, I will shut this thread down if you do not answer my questions above, or you give anyone else shit for their answers after this.
