Allison 5 speed no engagement. Input shaft?

Park works therefore it is not transfer case.
when my transfer case took a dump,i still had park.of course my symptom was a neutral when driving at random times,till it finally ended up always in neutral.changed out the gm rebuilt tcase for another and its been fine ever since.

I didnt see any mention of what causes a broken input shaft, how common are they & @ what power levels one would need to worry about such hazard?

You need to take some transmission classes before you start posting about them. Pump is driven by the engine by way of the torque converter hub. Input shaft is totaly divorced from the pump and has no bearing on pump pressure. Input shaft on Allison always breaks in the same place; at the void behind the turbine splines. C3 clutches do not spin. Now stop posting this crap.

Sure enough...

It was the input shaft. Time to order some parts. Probably go OEM as I don't race her anymore.

I really can't complain though, as i've beat the heck out of this transmission.
