Hello everyone,
My name is Nick, I am brand new to this forum. I have a 03 that I've owned since 07.
I would like to thank everyone for any help in advance. After reading through several posts, it's easy to see all the knowledge in this community.
So here's my story.
This morning my truck was totally dead. Wouldn't even turn over. Yesterday and today were both well over 100 degree, and my batteries were from 2012. So I just figured no bigee, I need new ones.
Well after replacing both batteries, she started right up.
Here's the problem,, I could not get the alarm to stop blasting. My key clicker has been on the fritz after getting wet. I put a new battery in the key clicker and cleaned with a Q tip. It works sometimes...
Well I disconnected the truck batteries just to start the whole process over. While connecting the first battery, the truck started all on her own with no keys in the ignition.. Weird..
So at this point I really don't know what to do, besides driving around with my horn blasting, lol..
Thanks again for any help, and I look forward to learning as much as possible..

Hmmm.. The alarm should only go off for "x"amount of time. Pull the horn relay and it won't honk

I'm assuming factory alarm?

Correct, the horn did go off after Two cycles of blasting, however I was pressing the key clicker at the time and I thought maybe I turned it off.
Where is the horn relay? I would be fine with that for short term, at least I could run errands with people thinking I'm stealing my own rig:).
Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Ok, found the relay switch in the owners manual.

Think I'll wait til morning to try, just in case the dang thing goes off..

I would still like to know what you guys think might be the cause.. Is it the key clicker??

Ok, I pulled the relay switch and no more horn blasting. I can still here the fuse box clicking like it wants to be blasting the horn. But at least I can go on with my day.

I'm still very interested in hearing what you guys might think it is.

Also,, where would I find a new key clicker.?

Thanks Hunter,

I've been using my key for a while now after getting my remote wet. I'm just wondering if after I put new batteries in, that maybe it has to be unlocked by remote to turn the alarm off? If that makes sense.

i would just get a new fob from somewhere, i think they even have them on amazon now, for about 50$ depending on year etc, there should be an 8 digit part number to match up

heres a link after a quick search to a DIY fob program

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQcQS3OwA48

there are a few of the diy vids out there, maybe something inside the remote is fried and it keeps triggering the panic button, i am no pro, especially after getting it wet, this is what i would do to start fairly cheap and easy,
