Damn they did a number on your dash! I'm not really worried about my truck being stolen but more some tweaker stealing stuff from the cab. Like an alarm with the key fob that alerts you when your truck is being tampered with. I'm a light sleeper and would be in my drive way in 3 seconds.

yep they totally hacked the PASSlock sensor in the ignition switch. As soon as they smashed the column like that it would have been basically impossible to start it because the ECM/BCM would never pass anti-theft with the PASSlock sensor destroyed like that.

personally, i think an alarm system is more to keep an honest man honest anymore. If a theaf really wants your truck or stuff inside they will find away if time is allowed.

the one thing i like on an alarm is the ignition kill when the alarm is goin off (its usually an option with alarms) but it does no good for anyone to rip off your deck, personal items inside and so on. On mine i have the ignition kill and plan on puttin a no thorttle input tune in as well. id love to find away to keep the allison from shifting out of park as well by tuning or a simple way of stopping the NSBU switch from changing gears.

Can you put your trans into gear without touching the brake pedal? All you need to do is have a relay that interrupts the start circuit AND one to interrupt the brake pedal sensing for the trans. The engine won't start and it won't come out of gear (assuming it's an electrical lock and not a mechanical one - I don't know what it is).
