Vaz was it that cheap 110 dollar one from advance auto?? Thats the one I bought, lifetime warranty, works great.

Are you sure its not an idler pulley going bad? Pull the belt off and see if it still makes the noise.

Yes i have put the same pump on a truck and it sounded like what you are saying but it went away after a few days of driving it.

i went through a couple of those for that same reason, and several other brands. i still have the airtex in it and it still makes just a little bit of noise but nothing compared to the others.

Gasuout posted about whining pumps a while back. Turned out the gears on the ones he was getting were cut slightly different, so they whined.

My el-cheapo NAPA reman pump is still doing fine.

also going with what Tom said, in Johnny's post he said that the best way to tell if the pump would be correct or noise is to put it in without the housing and see if it has any play. if it has play it will be loud.

in my experience with the several pumps i tried the more play the more noise.

hope this helps.

if the sound is real loud or it bothers you ya, if its not terrible you might leave it for a while and see if it gets better.

mine was noticable but its slowly getting better. i was going to change it that weekend but after 5 or so in one weekend i got tired of swapping them.
