You'll find alot fo the dealers have them on the shelves used for warranty reasons (people complain they're marred, colors don't match etc...).
Nissan never asked for them back and you CAN NOT throw a unexploded air bag away...
They have a kit to detonate them and everytime we had some we were going to blow up the dealership stopped for about an hour to come watch.
We'd put them in dumpsters and blow the lids clean off, we put trash cans over the top of them and blew them 15' feet in the air. It was great :rofl:

I have a box of BMW seatbelt tensioners i changed. Those are fun! In a wreck, theres a pyrotechnic charge the is in a piston/tube assembly that has a cable hooked to the belt buckle. It blows and yanks the seatbelt tight in an accident, to pull and hold occupants tight in the seat. Well, toss a nut/bolt/ball bearing in the end of it, give her 12V, BOOM! nice lil cannon!

I never got to do anything that big. While I was on my last deployment I went to Kuwait to do some disposals, but we were limited to 10k lbs per shot. It was still a pretty good bang though.

Man, when was that? Was that with the ARNG unit out of FL? The guys at Ali always brought fire extinguishers! We had fun with them.

That was in August '07. The AF guys were from all over. I'm not sure where the Army guys were from, but they were the ones controlling the range. We did a really nice burn too. A pit about 10' wide 60' long and 5' deep full of lots of propellant and misc. aircraft pyrotechnics.

We were given an unofficial "Don't hit the oil table" range limit! We had 200 tons of Code H and 130 MCLCs to get rid of.

I don't know why they set the limit, but coincidentally, we did string MCLC over the top of the 3 shots we did.
